The college cannot issue a 1098-T form if the student does not have a Social Security Number (SSN) on their SIS account. To have the SSN added, they are required to submit a Student Data Change form, a valid photo ID, and their Social Security card online through TCC’s Enrollment and Admissions online document portal. Once the SSN is added to their SIS account, the student will need to email 1098t@tcc.edu and request a 1098-T form. The note should include their name, student ID# and the information that their SSN is now on their SIS account.

If someone moved and they did not update their address in SIS, we cannot issue a new 1098-T until the address is updated in SIS. Once the address is changed in SIS, the student will need to email 1098t@tcc.edu and request another 1098-T form. The note should include their name, student ID# and the reason the duplicate is needed.

If someone signed up for a Spring 2020 payment plan prior to December 31, 2019, payments made on the plan WILL NOT show on the 1098-T for 2019. TCC will not get the payment until late March 2020. The payment plan payments for Spring 2020 will appear on the 1098-T that will be issued for the 2020 tax year.

If a student’s tuition and fees were paid entirely with grants, scholarships, or third-party contracts, the student WILL NOT receive a 1098-T. The college is not required by IRS regulations to provide a 1098-T to these students.

If a student believes that their 1098-T form is not correct, they must to email 1098t@tcc.edu and request to have their 1098-T information confirmed. The note should include their name, student ID# and the reason they believe the form is not accurate.
